We're founding a society dedicated to the art of the classical guitar in the heart of Düsseldorf. Our mission is simple: create a welcoming space where players of every level can learn, perform, and share their love of the instrument.
From intimate recitals to relaxed playing circles, the society is a year-round home for everyone drawn to six nylon strings - beginners and seasoned performers alike.
Co-founder
Gus graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, London, and performs as one half of Eleanor and Gus, a guitar & double bass/voice duo blending classical, folk and jazz. He won the New Elizabethean Award in 2022, and has performed at the UK's most prestigious venues, including Wigmore Hall and King's Place. He is excited to move to Düsseldorf this year, where he will study with Joaquin Clerch.

Co-founder
Petar graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, London, and is excited to move to Düsseldorf to study under Alexander-Sergei Ramirez at the Robert Schumann Hochschüle. In 2020, he won the Lennox Berkeley Society Award for his performance of Berkeley's 'Sonatina for Guitar', and shared the stage with maestro Pepe Romero during his 2025 farewell tour.

Members play to each other in monthly performance sessions. Sessions cycle around the homes of members who are happy to host locally. Many sessions will be accompanied by Gus McQuade and Petar Jovanović, who will offer feedback and encouragement.
We improve our skills by getting used to the nerves and emotions we feel when performing, and from peer and Gus McQuade and Petar Jovanović's feedback.
Whether you are picking up the guitar for the first time or returning to the stage, there is a place for you in the society.
At society sessions, members can practice their performance skills by playing to the rest of the group. On a regular basis, we are joined by our Society Leader who offers tips and advice after each performance. We learn from direct feedback, and by listening to feedback offered to others.
